Last week on our way up to Los Angeles for my swearing in ceremony (more on that later), Chad surprised us all with a little visit to Medieval Times for dinner. I was so excited because I have always wanted to go there ever since I came over to the U.S. as a teen and passed it on the way to Knotts Berry Farm. Now every-time we go to Knotts I tell the kids about it, how fun it looks and how badly I want to go there. The thing is Chad never comes to Knotts with us (he is not a huge fan of amusement parks and crowds), so he has never really heard me talk about the place. When we pulled into the restaurant I was in total shock, firstly about his spontaneity, secondly his creativity, thirdly his uncheapness and fourthly cause I was so excited!
It is basically dinner and a show, taking you back to medieval times - thus the name. Each party is assigned a color, which refers to the section you sit and the knight that you cheer for. We were assigned the Green Knight, the bad guy, and we loved it, of course he won everything until the very very end, because of course good had to triumph over the bad right!
The knights all performed and competed in certain events, including a speed race, aiming the lance at a target, through a hole and then of course there was the joust - aaah my favorite, I felt I like I was in the middle of one of my very favorite movies A KNIGHTS TALE cheering on my very own Heath Ledger. After they competed they would go to the princess and then she would drop flowers to the knights and they would throw them at people in the crowd.
One of the unique and cool parts was the dinner. We were not given any utensils and only one napkin. The dinner consisted of soup slurped right out of the bowl, garlic bread, ribs, chicken, potato and then a pastry all eaten with our hands and the kids loved every second of it! The food was pretty good too, Trent cant stop talking about it!
Here we are with the King and the princess, we all had a great time. It was a really entertaining, yummy and fun evening!

That is so cute. I lived in Buena Park until I was six and I remember quite a few birthdays being celebrated at Medieval Times!
How fun! We went to a place like that in Florida...but without our kids - I am sure it is way more fun to go there with them! Your family picture at the end is super cute! It still blows me away that your kids can be that big!
Medieval Times looks like such a riot! I have a friend that recently went there and had a great time. Looks like you had fun! Where are the swearing in pics?

Sounds like fun! We went to the show in Vegas at the Excalibur once and it was a lot of fun! Congratulations on your citezenship, and congrats to Chad for his non-cheapiness! :) Love that!
So add that to my list of things to do when I come visit! PLus 5 days in Disneyland. And Magic Mountain. I wannna come so bad! Darn being an adult with a fulltime job.
