Tonight for family night we were asked by our stake presidency to show up at the church buildings we meet in at 4.30. Each group from each of the 3 buildings (with 3 wards in each) were responsible for one of the 3 major roads in Temecula. Our group was stationed on Temecula Parkway. As a family (unfortunately without Chad who was out of town) were able to line the road, signs and balloons in tow and show our support for Prop 8. The time perfectly coincided with rush hour traffic and a huge part of our city were able to see a wonderful sight - families standing together in support of a cause. It felt so good to be apart of, on our street alone there were 450 people. There was a little negative feedback, a few fingers and thumbs down here and there, some yelling and some NO signs. The kids seemed to handle this o.k - I forgot to talk to them about that before we started - woops! For the most part it was very positive with horns honking, thumbs up and cheering all the time. The kids had a blast jumping up and down. Abby was doing some cheers and Luke thought we were in a parade - waving and cheering.
None of my pictures do it justice at all because we were unable to go onto the road and the line of people was so long, but a continual stream of so many people and signs I am certain had to make quite an impact!
Abby and our Stake President shared a sign for awhile - she thought that was pretty cool!

Go prop 8! I don't know about you guys but our stake has stopped all weekly church meetings so that we do nothing else but prop 8! I just pray that it passes!
I totally agree that it feels so good to work on this and stand up for what we believe!
We had a great time too-I am SO impressed at how quickly you got your pictures up! How smart to take a family picture (minus Chad)-why didn't I think of that?? I loved the experience it was for us, as well as the kids, standing up for what we know is true! You are awesome! :-)
Wasn't that awesome??!! We had the same experience on Rancho California...90% positive...only a few fingers. Isn't it nice to know that even if this doesn't pass in the state...Temecula is supportive of traditional families!
I was feelin' the love over on Rancho California. Our kids had a great time and loved waving at everyone as they drove by!
Look at you getting all political?? Good on you all for taking a stand on something you believe in. It's great for kids to do stuff like this...paves the way for a cool future!! xoxo
I just got chills as we drove up to the church. It was amazing!! My kids asked if we could do it again!! Your pictures turned out much better than mine. By the time I thought to take pictures it was dusk and didn't lend itself to proper lighting, plus my boys were covered head to toe in dirt..
