Day 2 -Day in the English countryside

Today we hired a car for a trip outside of the city. Driving here was not a problem for Chad he is used to driving on the opposite side of the car and the road when we visit Australia. Navigating a map and the streets were however a little problem. We decided that we were going to go out to the Cottswalds, when we stopped for a map, a drink and directions and were told where we needed to visit. We just so happened to stop in Banbury - do you know that nursery rhyme - ride a cock horse to Banbury cross to see a fine lady ride on a white horse. I just kept tripping about all these places that I have heard of and now was driving through. We drove through Oxford and then found this little town called Bourden on the Water that was straight out of a fairy tale.

It was the quaintest, most charming and cutest little town I had ever seen. It was mothers day and a beautiful warm day so people were out in force, soaking up the sun, splashing in the water and eating icecream. We were still cold and leaving on our jackets.

We found a little restaurant and had fish and chips - enjoyable and then explored this town that I fell in love with.

We bought some boiled lollies and stumbled upon a maze which seemed very fairy tale like so we decided to try it. We made a very good team and finished it in pretty good time. I officially love the Cottswalds and would love to stay and explore a whole lot more but we definitely feel like we got a feel for the countryside.

On the way back to London we hit Windsor Castle. It was amazing to see from the highway, the castle on a hill in the distance, it is firstly massive and sprawling and secondly so impressive and majestic. It was closed so we couldnt do any tours, but we got to walk around a little. This is where the Queen lives in the summer months. We had dinner here in Windsor where Chad had a little accent trouble when someone asked him if he hadnt had tea (which means dinner) yet. He kept saying I have teeth and he kept pointing to them, it went on and on tea, teeth, tea, teeth and we all got a good laugh out of it.
